  Byron Walk 2006

Walk in Nottinghamshire for your charities

The 1st Larch Farm (St. Peter's) Scout Group has organised a sponsored walk to be held on 13th May 2006.

Click here for a map of the area.
Known as the 'Byron Walk', the full walk is a 30KM circular route, starting and finishing at the Ravenshead Scout Headquarters (GR566554), this is next to ‘The Little John’ public house on the B6020 Ravenshead, and takes in part of the beautiful rolling countryside around Lord Byron's ancestral home of Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire. The walk passes through Harlow Wood, Thieves Wood, Normanshill Wood, Newstead Abbey Park, Papplewick, Papplewick Moor, Burnstump Country Park, Sansom Wood, Blidworth Bottoms, Old Blidworth, Rainworth Water, Harlow Wood and returns to Ravenshead.

There are a further two walks, an 18KM Walk and a family walk. We are sorry but all the walks are unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

The walk is designed to raise funds for the Scout Group, but it can be used to raise funds for Your charity. In return for organising the event, all we ask for is your entry fee and a pledge of 10% of the sponsorship money. The other 90% is for your charity.

Entry fees are £5 for individuals and £10 for group entry. Closing date for entries is 8th May 2006.
